Design
During the design phase, the staff at Quest would complete the detailed implementation of the architecture. Each of the specific engineering disciplines would address the details necessary to create the architectural elements associated with the design activities. During this phase the team is highly interactive to ensure that the interfaces between the various design elements are designed correctly. Discipline specific activities of this phase may include the following activities depending on the program.
| Mechanical | Electrical | Software |

Verification Activities
Shortly after the requirements are defined a verification plan can begin. Often the details of the verification activities are delayed until the design phase. The planning outlines the general methods that would be utilized for verification. During the design phase, the protocols are created. This consists of identification unique tests for each of the requirements, documenting these tests and subsequent execution during the prototype built.
Design Reviews
Throughout the design process review occurs with the mechanical, electrical and software engineering staff. It is also common for manufacturing personnel to participate in these reviews to provide input to ensure the design can be manufactured. At the conclusion of the design phase a final review is conducted for all design elements. This final assessment represents the last review prior to beginning the prototype build.
