The Technology

Ethernet interfaces have become more common place in recent years. The electronic and software technology for Ethernet interfaces years ago resided only on larger systems. Today this exists in small chip sets and is seeing application that were once driven by serial and less sophisticated interfaces. The technology consists of a basic Ethernet enabled chip set, driving software, and dedication application electronics. This technology used in conjunction with Quests reference designs can be a powerful combination.

The Application

This technology is deployed in many different arenas. Dedicated medical applications are being developed where the user interface that once resided on a PC platform now resides on a simple board with a web interface. An external computer (PC) interface to this board is through a specific IP address and the user interacts with the web page on the board. Approaches where this technology is being applied include:
