A local Colorado company was awarded a contract to develop a system for Nanogen. Due to recent success they found themselves significantly short on staff for the program. Quest was engaged to support the development effort representing five of the seven team members (all but management and optics). The design was further complicated by the disposable being designed by a third group that had little fluidic experience but a strong industrial design focus. Quest worked with both orginizations to facilitate solutions to numerous design issues throughout the program. The basic architecture and design of the system was done by Quest. Many technical issues and their resolutions for the disposables were also provided by Quest.
