Professional Experience and Background

Rick has fostered the development of instrumentation for the medical and biotech industry for 24 years. Areas of focus include product development , program and engineering manager, engineering, sales and marketing. He has helped accelerate time to market for companies like J&J, Applied Biosystems, bioMerieux, Medtronic, Baxter Health Care, Eastman Chemical and a number of startups companies as a service provider. Rick has a BS from Wilamette University and a MS from the University of Texas Health Science Center.

Medical Experience

Rick has worked on 15 medical devices of which 8 have received a 510(k) or PMA approval. These systems included in vitro diagnostic systems, drug infusion pumps, and ablation systems. Rick also has a RAC certification from the Regulatory Affairs Professional Society.

Instrument Experience

Rick has worked on 5 complex systems for DNA, protein analysis, PCR amplification, and cellular imaging. He also worked at a startup focused on DNA based Aptamers.
